Looking to crank up the chaos at your next house party or pregame? Meet knicks, the viral drinking game that’s lighting up parties from college dorms in the US to wild wedding receptions in the UK and beyond. If you love meme drinking games, dare challenges, and rules that keep everyone on their toes, knicks is about to be your new party MVP.
What Is Knicks?
Knicks isn’t just another party drinking game—it’s a wild mix of memory, mischief, and fast reactions. The secret sauce? Simple rules, zero prep, and the power to turn any group into legends. Whether you’re kicking off a destination wedding, celebrating Election Day, or just vibing with friends, knicks brings the energy.
What You Need
- Any group of 3+ players (the more, the messier)
- Your favorite drinks (beer, seltzers, cocktails, whatever)
- A table or flat surface
- No cards, dice, or fancy props required
How To Play Knicks
-
Everyone grabs a drink and circles up.
You can play sitting or standing—whatever fits your vibe. -
Pick a starting player.
This is usually the last person who took a drink (or whoever’s boldest). -
The starting player taps the table and says “knicks.”
Now, going clockwise, each person must also tap the table and say “knicks.” -
Here’s the twist:
At any time, a player can double-tap the table and say “double knicks!” This reverses the direction of play. The next person must react fast and continue in the new direction. -
Make a mistake?
If you hesitate, forget to tap, mess up the order, or say the wrong phrase, you drink. (For extra chaos, add a dare challenge from Drinking Dojo’s custom dare packs.) -
Level up with meme drinking game rules:
- Add a “no smiling” rule—smile and you drink.
- Assign secret gestures (e.g., scratch your nose before your turn). Miss it? That’s a penalty drink.
- Try a round where everyone plays with their non-dominant hand.
